BIOIMAGING

MicrosoftTeams-image (7).png
We offer a unique pipeline from sample processing, staining (histology) and image acquisition (bioimaging) through to data analysis, providing publication-ready results.

Thanks to the incredible support of the Hugh Green Foundation, we have the capability to perform multicolour three-dimensional imaging using our confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM). The confocal microscope can scan and record a specimen at different focus levels blur free and integrate all the images into a 3D reconstruction. Our confocal laser scanning microscope includes an incubation chamber that enables live-cell or time-lapse imaging.

For long term time lapse recording we the facility has Incucyte S3, an specialized fluorescent microscope placed inside of an incubator for optimal cell culture conditions. The advanced image analysis software proved a robust data generation platform for rutinary experiment like killing assay, wound assay and cell to cell interaction.

Every microscope is accompanied by state-of-the-art computers and digital cameras to capture and save high-quality digital images. With the last upgrade of mercury free fluorescent illumination system from Cool LED we became more environmental friendly facility

Harmony: A three-dimensional reconstruction of mouse small intestine infected with the helminth Heligmosomoides polygyrus. (Magenta) coils around small intestinal villi (green). It lives within the intestinal lumen for months and produces eggs to continue its lifecycle. This helminth secretes molecules which modulate the host's immune response to prolong its survival, while also protecting its host from intestinal and systemic diseases.
